The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.

According to their website, there are now 83,609 total cases, 80,480 of which are confirmed and 3,129 are probable. There are 2,075 total coronavirus related deaths, with 1,972 being confirmed and 103 being probable.

The case numbers are up by 1,245, and deaths are up by 8 since Friday.

Virginia Beach saw its highest-ever case increase with 329 cases. The VDH said that the rapid increase in cases in the city led to a delay in the data being entered into the state case reporting system, causing the number to increase due to data entry, not a one-day spike.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Saturday, there are 785 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 416 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. Combined, the VHHA is reporting 1,201 people currently hospitalized for coronavirus related illness. That's 49 less hospitalizations from Friday.

266 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.

138 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 614 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 3,075 in the state - that's 20% usage.

10,800 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.
