VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Beach Fire Department responded to a possible technical rescue that happened in the 900 block of Outerbridge Quay in Charlestowne Lakes South around 9:40 a.m.
According to a news release, upon arrival, fire units found a male maintenance worker that had fallen around 30 feet into a dry well of a sewage pump house.
The VBFD Technical Rescue Team removed him from the well and he was transferred to the VBEMS and then to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
