The Virginia Department of Health reported Friday that it had confirmed 4,509 cases of coronavirus in the state.
It also reported 121 deaths from the virus, up from Thursday's total of 109 deaths. This is the biggest jump in a day for new cases in the state.
As of Friday, 35,459 people have been tested for coronavirus.
The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Friday, there are 717 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 521 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 457 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.
287 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 686 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 2,797 in the state - that's 25% usage.
