Virginia reports 551 new coronavirus cases, bringing state total to 57,994

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.

According to their website, there are now 57,994 total cases, 55,504 of which are confirmed and 2,490 are probable. There are 1,611 total coronavirus related deaths, with 1,508 being confirmed and 103 being probable. The case numbers are up by 551, and deaths are up by 4 since Saturday.

A total of 543,186 people in Virginia have now been tested.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Sunday, there are 566 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 297 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 243 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.

125 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 610 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 2,966 in the state - that's 21% usage.

7,646 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.

  • Chesapeake 733 cases, 105 hospitalized, 16 deaths (+12 cases from Saturday)
  • Accomack 1,031 cases, 67 hospitalized, 14 deaths (+7 cases from Saturday)
  • Northampton 270 cases, 39 hospitalized, 28 deaths (+2 cases from Saturday)
  • Hampton 264 cases, 37 hospitalized, 5 deaths (+6 cases from Saturday)
  • Norfolk 737 cases, 90 hospitalized, 7 deaths (+14 cases from Saturday)
  • James City County 242 cases, 57 hospitalized, 15 deaths (+3 cases from Saturday)
  • Newport News 438 cases, 44 hospitalized, 10 deaths (+8 cases from Saturday)
  • Poquoson 16 cases, 2 hospitalized, 0 deaths (+2 cases from Saturday)
  • Williamsburg 54 cases, 11 hospitalized, 5 deaths (+0 cases from Saturday)
  • York County 99 cases, 10 hospitalized, 3 deaths (+1 cases from Saturday)
  • Portsmouth 406 cases, 60 hospitalized, 13 deaths (+1 cases from Saturday)
  • Gloucester 42 cases, 9 hospitalized, 1 deaths (+0 cases from Saturday)
