Virginia reports 613 new coronavirus cases; Norfolk sees rise of 95 cases in 24 hours

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.

According to their website, there are now 67,988 total cases, 65,191 of which are confirmed and 2,797 are probable. There are 1,937 total coronavirus related deaths, with 1,832 being confirmed and 105 being probable. The case numbers are up by 613, and deaths are up by 32 since Wednesday.

A total of 750,631 people in Virginia have now been tested.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Thursday, there are 586 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 370 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 215 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.

93 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 631 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 3,002 in the state - that's 21% usage.

9,065 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.

  • Accomack 1,042 cases, 72 hospitalized, 14 deaths (+0 cases from Wednesday)
  • Northampton 272 cases, 41 hospitalized, 28 deaths (+0 cases from Wednesday)
  • Hampton 424 cases, 41 hospitalized, 5 deaths (+15 cases from Wednesday)
  • Norfolk 1,289 cases, 120 hospitalized, 14 deaths (+95 cases from Wednesday)
  • James City County 323 cases, 58 hospitalized, 16 deaths (+10 cases from Wednesday)
  • Newport News 659 cases, 46 hospitalized, 10 deaths (+25 cases from Wednesday)
  • Poquoson 20 cases, 2 hospitalized, 0 deaths (+1 case from Wednesday)
  • Williamsburg 78 cases, 12 hospitalized, 6 deaths (+1 case from Wednesday)
  • York County 140 cases, 10 hospitalized, 3 deaths (+5 cases from Wednesday)
  • Portsmouth 605 cases, 82 hospitalized, 18 deaths (+12 cases from Wednesday)
  • Gloucester 64 cases, 10 hospitalized, 1 deaths (+12 cases from Wednesday)
  • Virginia Beach 1,547 cases, 130 hospitalized, 30 deaths (+27 cases from Wednesday)
