Virginia reports 650 new coronavirus cases, 5 new deaths

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.

According to their website, there are now 57,443 total cases, 54,953 of which are confirmed and 2,490 are probable. There are 1,607 total coronavirus related deaths, with 1,504 being confirmed and 103 being probable. The case numbers are up by 650, and deaths are up by 5 since Friday.

A total of 528,914 people in Virginia have now been tested.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Saturday, there are 577 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 303 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 267 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.

133 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 611 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 3,025 in the state - that's 20% usage.

7,607 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.

  • Chesapeake 721 cases, 105 hospitalized, 16 deaths (+12 cases from Friday)
  • Accomack 1,024 cases, 67 hospitalized, 14 deaths (+2 cases from Friday)
  • Northampton 268 cases, 39 hospitalized, 27 deaths (+6 cases from Friday)
  • Hampton 258 cases, 37 hospitalized, 5 deaths (+1 cases from Friday)
  • Norfolk 723 cases, 90 hospitalized, 7 deaths (+16 cases from Friday)
  • James City County 239 cases, 57 hospitalized, 15 deaths (+1 cases from Friday)
  • Newport News 430 cases, 44 hospitalized, 10 deaths (+20 cases from Friday)
  • Poquoson 14 cases, 2 hospitalized, 0 deaths (+2 cases from Friday)
  • Williamsburg 54 cases, 11 hospitalized, 5 deaths (+0 cases from Friday)
  • York County 98 cases, 10 hospitalized, 3 deaths (+1 cases from Friday)
  • Portsmouth 405 cases, 60 hospitalized, 13 deaths (+0 cases from Friday)
  • Gloucester 42 cases, 9 hospitalized, 1 deaths (+1 cases from Friday)
  • Virginia Beach 956 cases, 112 hospitalized, 27 deaths (+6 cases from Friday)
