Virginia reports 799 new coronavirus cases, bringing state total to 35,749

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.

According to their website, there are now 35,749 total cases, 33,962 of which are confirmed and 1,787 are probable. There are 1,159 total coronavirus related deaths, with 1,123 being confirmed and 36 being probable. The case numbers are up by 799, and deaths are up by 23 since Friday.

A total of 230,683 people in Virginia have now been tested.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Saturday, there are 975 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 409 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 330 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.

213 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 623 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 2,953 in the state - that's 21% usage.

5,047 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.

  • James City County 192 cases, 55 hospitalized, 16 deaths
  • Newport News 234 cases, 38 hospitalized, 10 deaths
  • Poquoson 7 cases, 2 hospitalized, 0 deaths
  • Williamsburg 43 cases, 9 hospitalized, 3 deaths
  • York County 67 cases, 9 hospitalized, 3 deaths
  • Portsmouth 253 cases, 40 hospitalized, 11 deaths
  • Gloucester 30 cases, 7 hospitalized, 1 death
  • Virginia Beach 598 cases, 90 hospitalized, 19 deaths
