Virginia reports 851 new coronavirus cases; Virginia Beach, Norfolk daily totals remain high

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.

According to their website, there are now 69,782 total cases, 66,963 of which are confirmed and 2,819 are probable. There are 1,962 total coronavirus related deaths, with 1,857 being confirmed and 105 being probable. The case numbers are up by 851, and deaths are up by 4 since Friday.

A total of 783,516 people in Virginia have now been tested.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Saturday, there are 655 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 365 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 230 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.

97 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 621 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 2,992 in the state - that's 21% usage.

9,271 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.

  • Accomack 1,042 cases, 72 hospitalized, 14 deaths (+0 cases from Friday)
  • Northampton 274 cases, 41 hospitalized, 28 deaths (+1 cases from Friday)
  • Hampton 469 cases, 40 hospitalized, 4 deaths (+15 cases from Friday)
  • Norfolk 1,448 cases,125 hospitalized, 15 deaths (+88 cases from Friday)
  • James City County 336 cases, 58 hospitalized, 16 deaths (+4 cases from Friday)
  • Newport News 693 cases, 47 hospitalized, 10 deaths (+14 cases from Friday)
  • Poquoson 20 cases, 2 hospitalized, 0 deaths (+0 cases from Friday)
  • Williamsburg 78 cases, 12 hospitalized, 6 deaths (+0 cases from Friday)
  • York County 149 cases, 10 hospitalized, 3 deaths (+5 cases from Friday)
  • Portsmouth 662 cases, 86 hospitalized, 19 deaths (+35 cases from Friday)
  • Gloucester 67 cases, 11 hospitalized, 1 deaths (+1 cases from Friday)
  • Virginia Beach 1,759 cases, 134 hospitalized, 30 deaths (+96 cases from Friday)
