Virginia reports 913 new coronavirus cases; Hampton Roads sees 239 new cases, more than half from Virginia Beach

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.

According to their website, there are now 90,801 total cases, 87,367 of which are confirmed and 3,434 are probable. There are 2,215 total coronavirus related deaths, with 2,105 being confirmed and 110 being probable.

The case numbers are up by 913, and deaths are up by 41 since Friday. Hampton Roads and its surrounding cities saw 239 new cases, 15 additional hospitalizations and 7 deaths from Friday.

A total of 1,123,927 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Saturday, there are 905 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 352 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 275 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.

150 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 627 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 3,069 in the state - that's 20% usage.

12,007 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.

  • Chesapeake 2,462 cases, 204 hospitalized, 29 deaths (+12 cases, +5 hospitalizations, +1 death from Friday)
  • Accomack 1,077 cases, 78 hospitalized, 15 deaths (+3 cases, +1 hospitalization from Friday)
  • Northampton 292 cases, 45 hospitalized, 28 deaths (+0 cases from Friday)
  • Hampton 1,009 cases, 49 hospitalized, 5 deaths (+2 cases from Friday)
  • Norfolk 3,185 cases, 170 hospitalized, 26 deaths (+5 cases, +2 hospitalizations, +2 deaths from Friday)
  • James City County 541 cases, 59 hospitalized, 16 deaths (+3 cases from Friday)
  • Newport News 1,589 cases, 74 hospitalized, 16 deaths (+16 cases, +3 hospitalizations from Friday)
  • Poquoson 36 cases, 2 hospitalized, 0 deaths (+0 cases from Friday)
  • Williamsburg 109 cases, 12 hospitalized, 6 deaths (+2 cases from Friday)
  • York County 308 cases, 14 hospitalized, 3 deaths (+7 cases from Friday)
  • Portsmouth 1,492 cases, 124 hospitalized, 24 deaths (+30 cases, +2 hospitalizations, +2 deaths from Friday)
  • Gloucester 143 cases,12 hospitalized, 2 deaths (+2 cases from Friday)
