YORK Co., Va. - The Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash that left a 28-year-old motorcyclist dead in York County Monday morning.
According to police, the crash occurred at 7:09 a.m on Old Williamsburg Road at Browns Lane.
The driver of a 2007 Kawasaki 600, Stephen Malone Peoples, was traveling on Old Williamsburg Road, ran off the roadway and struck a utility pole. Peoples was wearing a helmet and died at the scene.
Police said speed was a contributing factor in Peoples' death.
