NORFOLK, Va. - The Virginia Zoo’s Spring Break Camp is almost here!
This week-long camp offers exciting opportunities to meet and greet animal ambassadors, go behind the scenes with exhibit animals, hike around the Zoo, make crafts, play games and engage in fun learning activates.
Spring Break Camp runs Monday through Friday, April 13-17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and gives young environmental stewards in grades one through five the chance to explore the Zoo like never before.
This year two themes include:
- 1st and 2nd Grades: Stayin’ Alive Explore the wacky world of animal adaptations and discover how unique creature-features help animals survive in nature.
- 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades: Science of Yuck Spend the week investigating all things slimy, snotty, stinky, and shocking in the animal kingdom! In this gut-wrenching camp, we’ll dive into the nasty side of nature as we dissect owl pellets, identify poop, and explore disgusting animal diets.
Discounts are available for Virginia Zoo members, all camps are full-week only and after camp care is available until 5 p.m. To register, call the Zoo’s Education Department at (757)-441-2374 ext. 229 or online at this link.
