NORFOLK, Va. - As COVID-19 restrictions lessen around Hampton Roads, the Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center is resuming volunteer orientation events, now in a virtual setting.

According to a release from the City of Norfolk, the shelter is seeking volunteers for cleaning and care of the shelter, as well as feeding, walking and petting the animals.

To participate in the virtual orientations, which will discuss health and safety protocols as well as the shelter's volunteer needs, participants will need internet access and a device with a camera.

Volunteer orientation sessions will be held Thursday, September 17 at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 20 at 10 a.m. You can RSVP for the sessions by clicking on the shelter's volunteer registration platform here.
