Woman charged after early morning stabbing in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - A woman has been charged after a man was stabbed Sunday morning.

Around 2:05 a.m., Newport News Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of 31st Street in reference to a stabbing.

Officers located a female at the scene who they say was holding the male victim, who was suffering from a stab wound.

The victim was then transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The victim was identified as a 40-year-old Newport News man.

Once at the hospital, it was reported the victim’s wound appeared to be non-life threatening.

The female at the scene was identified as 49-year-old Vanessa Fox-Holland. The victim and Fox-Holland are known to each other, reports say.

After further investigation, officers arrested and charged Fox-Holland with Malicious Wounding.
