SUSSEX COUNTY, Va. - A woman has died after a crash that happened Wednesday evening.
Around 5:30 p.m., Virginia State Police responded to a two vehicle crash with life threatening injuries on Hunt Road, west of Little Mill Road.
The driver of a 2009 Honda Fit, 21-year-old Elyssandra Nicole Reeves, was med-flight to Chippenham Hospital where she later succumbed to the injuries sustained in the accident, police said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Reeves was traveling in the center of the roadway, on Hunts Road, when she collided head on with a 1994 Kenworth dump truck.
The driver of the dump truck was not injured. Police said Reeves was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.
There is no further information at this time.
