Woman dies after striking rear of farming truck in Surry County; 12-year-old boy seriously injured in crash

SURRY COUNTY, Va. - State Police are investigating a fatal two vehicle crash.

The crash took place around 4:16 p.m. on Route 634 (Alliance Road) west of Route 636 (Cobham Wharf Road), in Surry County.

According to the investigation, the driver of a 2012 Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Route 63 when she drove into the rear of a 1976 Ford F900, which was a farm truck used to haul soybeans.

Police say the driver of the Honda, 33-year-old Skye A. Holloway-Nottingham, was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident and died upon impact.

Holloway-Nottingham also had a 12-year-old male passenger that was flown to Norfolk Sentara Hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. Police say he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
