CHESAPEAKE, Va. - The Chesapeake Police Department charged a woman with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony after a Saturday morning shooting.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Windy Road and Parkside Drive at 12:36 a.m. in reference to an armed subject and a person who had been shot.

When officers arrived, they located a woman who had been shot in the upper torso. She was taken to a local hospital, and her condition is currently unknown.

Investigation revealed that the victim and her girlfriend were in a domestic dispute that began in one city and continued into Chesapeake. When the victim arrived at her residence with her girlfriend, the girlfriend's cousin, 42-year-old Sheree Flood, was waiting on the two to arrive.

Flood confronted the victim with a firearm, eventually shooting her, according to police.
