HAMPTON, Va. - A Chesterfield woman was killed in a crash on I-64 in Hampton Saturday evening.

According to the Virginia State Police, at 7:36 p.m., dispatch received a call regarding a black sedan traveling slowly in the second lane of I-64 westbound, west of Mercury Boulevard. Less than a minute later, dispatch received another call regarding a two-vehicle accident in the westbound lanes.

When officers arrived, they learned the black sedan's driver, 20-year-old Keira M. Reese-Johnson, was traveling westbound on I-64 when her vehicle became disabled and stopped in the lane of travel. Her vehicle was then struck from behind by another vehicle.

Johnson was taken to Riverside Regional Hospital, where she was declared dead.

An 11-year-old child traveling in the other vehicle was also hospitalized due to injuries.

No charges will be filed, and alcohol and speed were not contributing factors in the crash.
