HAMPTON, Va. - A woman was injured in a Sunday night shooting on East Walker Road in Hampton, the Hampton Police Division said.
At approximately 10:36 p.m., dispatch received a call in reference to a shooting in the area of East Walker Road.
When officers arrived, they located one adult female victim. She was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was sitting in her vehicle in front of a residence on East Walker Road when an unknown suspect fired several rounds at her vehicle, striking it several times. One of the projectiles penetrated the vehicle and struck the victim while she was sitting in the driver’s seat. The victim then fled the area before notifying the police.
The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation, and there is no suspect information to disseminate at this time.
