VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Owners at Studio Bamboo Institute for Yoga say although their doors are physically closed – they are still virtually open for business and classes!
Since the mandatory stay-at-home order has been in effect – Studio Bamboo owners say they have had to make drastic changes in order to keep their studio afloat.
Owners said they changed their entire business model within the span of two days. They also said they used to offer 90 classes a week but due to the coronavirus outbreak, they are now only offering 35 classes a week online and teaching in front of a laptop.
Co-owner Ann Stevens told News 3 that “half of our teachers are teaching on location from the studio and half of our teachers are teaching from home."
The online classes are popular and give the owners a new hope for what is to come.
Another co-owner, Erica Owens, said that “we have over 50 students in our online class right now. Physically we can only hold 30. So, stuff like that gives us motivation and inspiration to keep going.”
Although everyone is separated, there is still a way to come together.
The owners said they have learned and grown from this pandemic and will continue to offer online classes once the stay-at-home order is lifted.
