PORTSMOUTH, Va. - The Coffee Shoppe that wants you to know they're open during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The local business partnered with a Maryland health company to sell medical masks that come in packs of five. You can pre-order the masks or stop by and grab a pack.

The shop’s owner and medical consultant believes steps must be taken to get the virus under control.

“It’s a place that they're coming anyway - they don't have to make a special trip,” said Angela Clark, owner of The Coffee Shoppe. “A lot of our customers have called; we’ve gotten Facebook messages to see if we have them [the masks].”

“The point is to do something to mitigate the spread of the virus. We're not saying you're gonna stop the virus, because you're not,” said Paul Bell, a medical consultant with LHIC Inc. “People, please do what you're supposed to do to mitigate the spread of the virus.”

They want the community to know their health and well-being is important to them.
