The summer weather has officially arrived in Hampton Roads, and it's bringing with it a ton of things to do across our region.

If you're looking to plan for the weekend ahead, we have you covered — News 3 is working for you with three things you can do!

Camp out at Kings Dominion

If you're looking to take a road trip, you can spend Saturday night camping out at Kings Dominion — all for a good cause!

It’s called the X-Plorer's Campout.

All proceeds will benefit "A Kid Again," a nonprofit group giving hope to children with life-threatening conditions and their families.

It's $285 to rent a campsite for up to four people. A reservation includes:

  • One tent site for up to four people (tent not included)
  • Admission to the park Saturday and Sunday
  • Single Meal Deal
  • Complimentary breakfast on Sunday, June 12
  • Late ride time on Intimidator 305 and Arachnidia
  • Early ride time on Tumbili and Reptilian

CoVa Battle of the Burgers

If you're looking to stay more local this weekend, how about spending the day eating delicious cheeseburgers?

CoVa's Battle of the Burgers is back at the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach Saturday.

Tickets are $35 a person, but you'll have to be 21, and show proof of ID.

The event is from noon to 5 p.m.

You also might spot a familiar face while you're there — our very own Myles Henderson is one of the judges this year!

Norfolk Harborfest

The annual Norfolk Harborfest returns Friday!

It runs all weekend long at Town Point Park.

It's the country's largest, longest-running free maritime festival.

Activities include the annual Parade of Sail, one of the largest fireworks shows on the East Coast and a mesmerizing drone show.

It is free and open to the public.

Friday: noon - 11 p.m.; Parade of Sail begins at noon

Saturday: noon - 11 p.m.; fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

Sunday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
