With another gorgeous weekend ahead, it’s time to start planning!

There's plenty to do across Hampton Roads and northeastern North Carolina, and if you're looking to take advantage of the sunny days, we have you covered with three things you can do.

Rock the Cape Festival

How about getting a head start on the weekend by rocking out to more than 40 musicians and artists down in the Outer Banks?

The 10th annual 'Rock the Cape' kicks off Thursday in Rodanthe.

The event runs through Friday and features concerts, an art show and gallery tour. The event is free and begins at 5 p.m.

Thursday from noon to 5 p.m., over 25 local and regional artists will gather on the lawn at Kitty Hawk Kites' Waves Village Watersports Center at milepost 40 in Rodanthe for the Rock the Cape Art Show.

A soundfront concert on the deck at Kitty Hawk Kites will start at 5 p.m.

On Friday, "Friday Arts on the Island," an all-day First Friday tour of the galleries on Hatteras Island, will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
