RICHMOND, Va. – More businesses are beginning to reopen and employees are returning to work, as most of Virginia enters Phase Two of its reopening plan.

But for those looking to get back into the corporate world or maybe into a new field, one local photographer is offering a way to help in your search.

"I know people have been deeply and financially impacted. I know I have," said Kim Brundage, owner of Kim Brundage Photography. "An image, a picture, they say is worth a thousand words. And your brain processes images 60,000 times faster than text. So, having an updated headshot, that's strong, that conveys what you want it to convey, is very powerful."

Brundage tells CBS 6 that she decided to help those looking to land a job during the pandemic, by offering her services at deeply discounted rates.

She says an image is usually a recruiter’s first impression of an applicant.

"I really wanted to help my community by offering $35 headshots... its $35 for unemployed and then $99 for those who are employed and doing okay. I really want to help get people back to work," said Brundage.

Brundage says the session lasts for five minutes and only one person is allowed at a time. During each session she and the client are safely practicing social distancing. And within two days, you have your new headshot ready to be attached to your application and resume.

"One gentleman, he drove up from Hampton Roads and he said 'this was the best five minutes investment' he's made in his business... as long as there is a need, I'd like to offer that."
