On Monday May 4, News 3 kicked off a Virtual Food Drive to benefit the Southeastern Virginia, the Peninsula and Albemarle Food Banks.

You can give to the Virtual Food Drive through the month of May. Additionally, on May 7 we did virtual phone bank.

The Food Bank's mission is to eliminate hunger in our community. During the coronavirus pandemic, the amount of people in need of food has been greater so we aim to help fill that need with the Virtual Food Drive.

For every $10 donation the Food Bank receives, they can assemble and distribute up to $60 in grocery products.

So far just over $60,000 has been raised to support food banks and we are still seeing donations roll in! $35,139 was raised in the virtual phone bank and online donations so far, $15,000 was donated by our community partner Southern Bank and $10,000 was donated from the Scripps Howard Foundation.

Thank you to all who have helped so far!

Donations are being accepted online. VISA and Mastercard only. Click the button below or here to donate.
