NORFOLK, Va. – For the first time since 1969, the Norfolk State men's basketball team will host Old Dominion when the Spartans and Monarchs face off on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Joseph Echols Hall.
The Monarchs (1-1, 0-0 C-USA) game against NSU (2-0, 0-0 MEAC) will be televised in Hampton Roads on WGNT CW 27. The game will also be streamed for free via WTKR's website: CLICK HERE.
"WTKR/WGNT has been a great broadcast partner over the years for local sports," said ODU Athletic Director Dr. Wood Selig. "Televising the ODU versus Norfolk State men's basketball game is another example of WTKR/WGNT continuing to add value to and meeting the needs and interests of our local community. I know I speak for all Monarch fans when I thank WTKR/WGNT in advance for their game telecast of a contest that all ODU followers desire to watch even more so given the Covid-19 attendance restrictions in place throughout the Commonwealth."
Wednesday marks the 20th meeting between ODU and NSU, as the Monarchs lead the all-time series, 13-6. These two schools last met on Dec. 22 of 2017, in a game ODU won 61-50 at the Norfolk Scope.
