NORFOLK, Va. - A tradition spanning 75 years has been called-off due to COVID-19.

The Norfolk Sports Club Jamboree, scheduled for December 7th, has been canceled due to a limit on gatherings due to COVID-19. Basketball legend Nancy Lieberman was slated to deliver the keynote address at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott.

"It is with heavy, heavy hearts that we must regretfully cancel the 75th Annual Jamboree," the Club said in a statement provided to News 3. "The new restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia, allow for only a maximum of 25 people in one gathering, making our Jamboree impossible to happen at this time. We are currently exploring all options, and once a decision has been made, we will make a special announcement."

For anyone who purchased tickets/table(s) and or sponsorships, refunds will be processed. If it is your desire to have those purchases transferred to donations, please contact the Norfolk Sports Club office.
