WASHINGTON, D.C. - Norfolk Tides pitcher Keegan Akin was called up to the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday.
The lefty has spent this season training at Baltimore's secondary camp in Bowie, Maryland, and if he takes the mound for the Orioles it will mark his Major League debut.
Akin spent the entire 2019 season with the Tides, where he had a 4.73 ERA and 131 strikeouts over the course of 25 games. He's currently ranked Baltimore's No. 13 prospect.
The Orioles have recalled LHP Keegan Akin from the Alternate Training Site at Double-A Bowie. He will wear No. 45 and his first appearance will be his Major League debut. The Orioles have also optioned OF Cedric Mullins to the Alternate Training Site.
