NORFOLK, Va. - Breathe in. Breathe out.
For many, yoga is a popular way to stay active and O'Connor Brewery Company in Norfolk makes it so that you don't have to bend over backwards to find a place to unwind with a cold drink after a yoga workout.
Every second and fourth Sunday of each month the brewery hosts Poses and Pints, a socially distanced-, hour long yoga class.
"The benefits of yoga are it gets rid of detoxes in your body, it helps your muscles relax, it helps you relax in your mind and body and spirit," yoga instructor Kristin Turner said. "Yoga’s just a great way to stretch, great way to exercise, it’s overall a great thing to do for your body."
The mental benefits yoga provides provides could be extremely beneficial in the midst of a pandemic, when stress and anxiety relief comes in handy.
"Most people are gonna have a beer afterwards so you don’t want to feel sick when you have a beer," Turner said when describing the type of yoga she teaches. "I have my essential oil towels, that's a big thing I do at the end to help people relax.”
When many of of the classes participants finish an hour of yoga, they head downstairs to enjoy a cold beer.
