HOUSTON - Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson and his wife, Ashley, are lending a helping hand to the Houston community amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
The two have donated $100,000 through the Adrian and Ashley Peterson Family Foundation to support meals for seniors and students in their hometown of Houston.
"We encourage everyone who is capable to pay it forward and help those in this critical time of need," Peterson said on Twitter.
The decision to donate comes on the future Hall of Famer's birthday.
"I appreciate everyone’s kind birthday messages," Peterson said. "The way I’d like to celebrate this year is to give back to others in our city."
