UVA special teams coordinator Brumfield to also coach tight ends

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (VirginiaSports.com) – Virginia head football coach Bronco Mendenhall announced today that special teams coordinator Ricky Brumfield will also coach the Cavaliers’ tight ends starting this season. Brumfield is in his third season at UVA and 20th overall as a collegiate coach.

While at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Brumfield coached the tight ends while serving as the Roadrunners’ special team coordinator for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

C.J. Stalker will work as the team’s defensive analyst starting in 2020 after serving as a graduate assistant following the conclusion of the 2019 season. Former graduate assistant Drew Meyer is the team’s special teams analyst. They will assist Matt Edwards, UVA’s director of sports analytics.

The graduate assistants for the 2020 season are Donte Wilkins (defense), Kirk Garner (defense), Joe Spaziani (offense) and Charles Mack (offense).
