NORFOLK, Va. - After many high school seniors lost out on the remainder of their senior year due to the coronavirus pandemic, Virginia Beach City FC came up with a way to give them a proper sendoff.
The team is hosting its a 7v7 Senior Shootout on July 25th and 26th. The soccer tournament will raise money for scholarships that will go to Hampton Roads high school seniors.
Grades 9-11 can take part in the tournament with a $50 entry fee and seniors can take part for free. Each team will consist of ten players, and there will be male divisions, which females can take part in, and female divisions.
The tournament takes place July 25th and 26th, and the deadline to register is July 1st.
Virginia Beach City FC is also accepting donations for the scholarship fund.
