19-year-old taken to hospital after being struck by gunfire from passing vehicle in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. - Police in Hampton are trying to identify the suspect(s) in connection with a shooting that took place on Saturday.

Around 9:27 p.m., emergency officials received a call in reference to a shooting that had just occurred in the 900 block of North King Street. Officers say they located a 19-year-old at the scene who had been struck by gunfire.

He was transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Reports say the victim was walking in the area when he was struck by gunfire from a passing vehicle. The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation, and there is no suspect information to disseminate at this time.
