21-year-old suffering from gunshot wound after being shot in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. - Hampton police are trying to identify the suspect(s) in connection with a shooting that took place on Monday.

Around 10:16 p.m., emergency officials received a call in reference to shots fired in the first block of Joynes Road. Officers say while they were investigating, a victim walked into a local hospital with gunshot injuries.

Officer's preliminary investigation revealed that a 21-year-old victim was in the first block of Joynes road when he was struck by gunfire. He was then transported to a local hospital in a personal vehicle.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation, and there is no suspect information to release at this time.
