Detectives investigating after shooting left 20-year-old man dead in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Detectives with the Portsmouth Police Department Major Crimes Unit are investigating a shooting incident that left one man dead.

On Thursday, September 24, around 8:17 p.m., emergency officials were notified of a 20-year-old man who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the torso on Gilmerton Avenue near Lincoln Street.

Medics and officers arrived and pronounced the victim dead at 8:27 p.m. The man has been identified as Daquan Terryon Jordan of Chesapeake.
