Police searching for suspect information after 15-year-old shot in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. - Police are searching for suspect information after a teen was shot on Friday.

Around 11:18 p.m., dispatch received a call in reference to a shooting that just happened in the area of Shelton Road and Ireland Street.

Officers arrived in the 400 block of Smiley Road and located the victim, a 15-year-old male. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed the teen was walking in the area when he was struck by gunfire.

The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation, and there is no suspect information to disseminate at this time.
