Victim taken to hospital after being shot during attempted robbery in Hampton; Police search for suspect

HAMPTON, Va. - Hampton Police are trying to identify the suspect(s) after a shooting injured someone on Saturday, September 12.

Around 12:35 a.m., officials received a call in reference to a walk-in shooting victim at a local hospital. Officers say they located an adult male victim when they arrived at the hospital who was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the shooting took place in the 600 block of Michigan Drive during an attempted robbery.

The victim was transported to the hospital in a personal vehicle, reports say. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build, wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans.
