...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST SUNDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 4
inches. Localized amounts in excess of 4 inches are possible,
especially along and east of US-17. Winds gusting as high as 45
mph.
* WHERE...Hampton/Poquoson, Isle of Wight, Newport News, and
Southampton Counties, and Suffolk.
* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel
treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Plan on slippery
road conditions. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. Call 511 for road information.
Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use
extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.
