First Warning Forecast

Warming nicely across Hampton Roads... A pleasantly warm Sunday afternoon with low humidity. Highs near 82 with an occasional northerly breeze.

Just as nice for Labor Day, but slightly warmer with more humidity and a stray shower possible. Partly cloudy, more humid and an isolated shower possible Tuesday. Highs in the mid 80s, but will feel like 90 degrees.

We'll enter an unsettled stretch of weather starting late Tuesday and it will continue through Saturday. Expect scattered showers and storms to be possible every day, with the best chance being during the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures will trend in the mid 80s with dew points in the low and mid 70s, making temperatures feel like the low 90s.

TROPICAL UPDATE:

Watching four areas of possible tropical development... Two of the four waves have the highest chance of developing further into a tropical system. Disturbance four is the closest to have a possible impact on the east coast.

Disturbance 1: An area of low pressure over the eastern Atlantic with greatest chance of developing. It continues to produce a large area of showers and thunderstorms. Gradual development is likely as it moves west, this one has the greatest potential of becoming a tropical depression over the next day or two.

Next 2 days chance of development: 90%
Next 5 days chance of development: 90%

Disturbance 2: Another tropical wave just off the coast of Africa is showing signs of organizing into a tropical depression. A tropical depression is likely to form from the wave by the middle of the week. By then, it will move deeper into the tropical Atlantic, where conditions may become more favorable.

Next 2 days chance of development: 50%
Next 5 days chance of development: 80%

Disturbance 3: The weaker of the three disturbance in the tropical Atlantic. It has very little shower/storm activity and any further development will likely be hindered by the larger system nearby. No significant changes are expected with this particular disturbance in the near future.

Next 2 days chance of development: 10%
Next 5 days chance of development: 10%

Disturbance 4: An area of low pressure southeast of Bermuda has slight chance of developing further as it moves generally to the west. This one is being watch closely to see if environmental conditions become favorable for it to continue organizing. Watch for updates over the next couple of days to see how it develops as it slowly works towards the east coast. Right now, the chance of development is low.

Next 2 days chance of development: 10%
Next 5 days chance of development: 20%
