First Warning Forecast - Winter Weather Alerts in effect tonight for parts of the region.
*** Winter Storm Warning for Sussex from 1 AM to 7 Pm Thursday. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to ice accumulation. Travel could be nearly impossible.
*** Winter Storm Watch for Surry, James City, Williamsburg from 1 AM to Noon Thursday. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to ice accumulation. Travel could be difficult.

Much cooler this afternoon across Hampton Roads after reaching the upper 60 just yesterday. Sunny with highs near 40 today! Big changes tonight, a system over Texas is moving in overnight with rain, sleet and snow.

All day rain Thursday with snow and ice possible closer to Central Virginia, with the biggest risk west of I-95 and north of Richmond. We will see mostly (if not all) rain through most of the day Thursday and into Friday morning. Highs will reach the mid 40s Thursday and Friday with strong winds. This weekend, highs near 40 with plenty of sunshine... 20s overnight into Sunday morning.
