KJ's First Warning Forecast

Quickly warming to near 90 with a heat index of 94 today! Welcome a nice breeze this afternoon and evening as the cold front draws in slightly drier air. Most areas will miss the rain especially early on, but watch for a few afternoon and evening showers and possibly an isolated thunderstorm.

Relief for all of us Sunday as the oppressive heat and humidity sits on the back burner. Expect mid 80s with partly cloudy sky conditions and even lower rain chances to wrap up the holiday weekend.

The weekend cold front will slip to our south early in the work week and temperatures will climb back to near 90° with a 30% chance for afternoon storms both Monday and Tuesday, but an area of low pressure will develop by midweek along that front and slowly move in our direction. It'll increase shower and storm chances with heavy downpours on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of next week.
