KJ's First Warning Forecast

Tracking a strong storm system for overnight through Monday afternoon.

The quiet before the storm today with partly sunny skies and highs near 62. Clouds will increase later today ahead of scattered showers by midnight. Heavy rain with embedded thunderstorms overnight during the predawn hours. Have multiple ways of being notified should severe weather develop.

The Storm Prediction Center has the entire area under a severe weather threat. The biggest threat will be damaging wind gusts. Several severe storms will be possible along the coast and areas in North Carolina along with a tornado threat.

Sharply cooler, breezy with isolated rain Tuesday. Temperatures will suddenly drop from Monday to Tuesday with highs only in the 40s. Bundle up - Wednesday morning wind chills will be in the 20s!
