Tracking a system with unsettled weather for Sunday. *Winter Weather Advisory effective Sunday from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Snow, sleet and rain are the main impacts from the developing system Sunday. The timing for snow is tonight through the overnight into Sunday morning. A period of sleet is likely by mid/late morning and then a transition to rain for midday into the afternoon and evening. Accumulations likely to more pronounced for areas closer to Interstate 95 as well the peninsulas. A quick dusting to an inch is possible for everyone. More than an inch to upwards of 3 inches is possible for our far inland and northwest zones within the Winter Weather Advisory. At what point we transition to sleet and rain will have a role on what actually sticks.
Happening today, plenty of sunshine and very cold with highs near 38. Becoming cloudy with some initially flakes after midnight. Another window for snow is possible Monday night into Tuesday morning just as the system departs the region. By the way, Groundhog Day is Tuesday!
