The worst is over! At least for now.
We hit a record-breaking 102° at Norfolk International this afternoon. That's the fifth triple digit day this month!

A slow-moving cold front is going to usher in some milder temperatures beginning on Wednesday. But it will also be the focus for more showers and thunderstorms. And because the cold front is moving slowly, the thunderstorms that form will also be slow movers. Tuesday's storms dumped a healthy amount of welcome rain in some areas.

The cold front will make its way across our region slowly over the next few days. That means a drop in temperatures, but a continued chance for showers and thunderstorms each day.

It won't exactly be chilly behind the cold front. In fact, temperatures over the next week will still be above normal. But just by a few degrees. No triple digit heat expected for awhile!
