First Warning Forecast:
Flash Flood Watch in effect until 4 AM Friday for the Peninsulas including the cities of Williamsburg, Gloucester and Hampton. Heavy rainfall is expected this afternoon into tonight as thunderstorms are expected to develop in the vicinity of a lingering frontal boundary later today and persist through much of the night. This, combined with very wet antecedent conditions in much of the watch area, will likely lead to a few instances of flash flooding.
Severe storms are possible this evening and overnight tonight, with the potential for damaging wind gusts and localized flooding. Low temperatures will be in the mid 70s.
Friday will look and feel a lot like today. We will see a mix of clouds with scattered showers and storms. Highs will return to the upper 80s with a heat index in the upper 90s.
Scattered showers and storms will return for Saturday, but rain chances will drop for Sunday with more sunshine mixing in. Highs will remain in the upper 80 to near 90 through the weekend with afternoon heat index values in the mid 90s.
