First Warning Forecast: Flooding downpours and more rain on the way

Flash Flood Watch in effect from Noon Friday until Tonight for the Peninsulas including the cities of Williamsburg, Gloucester and Newport News and the south side of Hampton Roads.

Friday will look and feel a lot like Thursday. Mostly cloudy and mainly dry to start with increasing rain chances by the afternoon. Slow moving storm may lead to flash flooding... A Flash Flood Watch is effect until late tonight. Highs are returning to the upper 80s and mid/upper 90s for the heat index.

Several areas received more than seven inches of rainfall within a span of 24 hours Thursday.

Additional rainfall is expected Friday afternoon due to a nearby stationary front, which will keep those wet weather chances around into the weekend. However, there's going to be dry time this weekend for those outdoor plans.

Timing out scattered showers and storms for Saturday afternoon, yet much drier for Sunday with only an isolated shower or storm possible. Expect another mainly dry day Monday before temperatures and rain chances go up!
