Meteorologist Maddie Kirker's First Warning Forecast:
Another hot and humid day with heat index values in the 100s… Today will look and feel a lot like yesterday. High temperatures will return to the upper 90s today, about 10 degrees above normal for this time of year. Afternoon heat index values will soar to 105-110+. Expect sunshine again today with a few clouds mixing in during the afternoon. A cold front will nudge closer to our area which will initiate a few storms after 5pm this evening. Some storms could be strong with heavy rain, frequent lightning and gusty winds.

Heat and humidity levels remain uncomfortable Wednesday and Thursday. Highs will reach the upper 90s with an afternoon heat index between 100 and 110. We will see a mix of sun and clouds Wednesday with afternoon showers and storms. Some storms Wednesday could be severe. Storms chances increase Thursday through Friday with the approach of weak cold front that will stall out into the weekend.

We'll get to an enjoy a "brief" break in the heat Friday! Highs will be closer to normal and in the upper 80s with heat index values in the mid 90s. The near normal temperatures in the upper 80s will continue into Saturday before we heat up again to the low 90s Sunday.
