Good news and bad news as we head toward the weekend. The good news is temperatures will be climbing. In fact, we expect to be well into the 60s this weekend. The bad news: our rain chances will be climbing as well.

But when you wake up on Wednesday morning, it will be cold and dry. We do expect an increase in clouds toward sunrise, but we are not expecting anything to fall from those clouds.

We will start off your Wednesday with temperatures in the upper 20s and low 30s. But by the afternoon we will climb to a near-normal 53°.

On Thursday we tack on a few more degrees into the mid 50s under partly cloudy skies.

The warming trend continues on Friday with high temperatures in the lower 60s.

On Saturday and Sunday we will surge into the mid 60s. In fact, some of us on Sunday may even get close to 70°!

But the trade-off is a chance for rain this weekend. An area of low pressure will cross the region bringing us a 30% chance for showers on Saturday and a 40% chance on Sunday.

More showers are possible on Monday and early Tuesday. But by then the milder weather will be gone. Behind a cold front, we will drop into the upper 40s and lower 50s.
