Derrah Getter's First Warning Forecast

This evening, spotty shower and storms linger along the coast. Mostly dry conditions prevail overnight with lows in the upper 60s and low 70s.

The back-to-school forecast for Monday morning looks great. Humidity will be lower with temperatures in the 70s. Afternoon highs will reach the mid to upper 80s. Isolated showers and storms will be possible along the coast during the afternoon and evening.

Mainly dry and sunny conditions last through the middle of the week. Scattered showers and storms return by the end of the week. Highs remain in the mid to upper 80s.

2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season Update:

We’re monitoring two areas in the tropics.

A tropical wave is forecast to move off the west coast of Africa early this week. An area of low pressure could form. Environmental conditions are marginally favorable for development, and a tropical depression could form mid to late this week.

A trough of low pressure located over the central Atlantic a few hundred miles east of Bermuda is producing showers and thunderstorms. Latest satellite imagery shows some signs of organization. A short-lived tropical depression could form during the next few days.
