Strong storms possible Saturday and Hurricane Isaias potential impacts for early next week...

Hello weekend and welcome August - Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies to start the weekend with highs near 90, yet it'll like the mid/upper 90s. Scattered storms may disrupt your afternoon plans, that's going to be the best window for showers and storms as the chances build throughout the day. A strong-to-severe thunderstorm is possible with heavy rain and high winds.

More sunshine will mix in for Sunday, but it's also going to be hotter with mid 90s with a heat index upwards of 105. Lower rain chances for Sunday, a pop-up shower or storm may occur during the afternoon.

Hurricane Isaias continues to make its way towards with a forecast to move up the East Coast early next week. Based on the current forecast, it is expected to be downgraded to a tropical storm and make landfall near the SC/NC line late Monday to early Tuesday. Expect heavy rain, gusty winds, rough surf, and a high risk for rip currents. Use this time ahead of the storm to make necessary preparations. Tune in often this weekend for updated forecasts.
