Tropical Storm Kyle forms over northwest Atlantic

Tropical Storm Kyle formed over the northwest Atlantic Ocean Friday afternoon.

As of 5 p.m. Saturday, Kyle is moving toward the east-northeast near 22 mph and this general motion is forecast to continue this evening.

A turn toward the east is expected by late Sunday or early Monday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph with higher gusts. Little change in strength is expected overnight, and gradual weakening is forecast to begin on Sunday.

Kyle is expected to become post-tropical overnight or on Sunday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 175 miles from the center.
